A Randomized, Pilot Study To Compare the Safety and Efficacy of the BA 1000 System Versus Standard In-Office Cryotherapy (CRY-AC3) Versus Placebo For the Treatment of Common Warts
The Dermatology Clinical Unit for Research Trials in Skin of
Massachusetts General Hospital is now recruiting subjects
3-11 years of age with common warts.
Description - The purpose of this research study is to evaluate how well an investigational device works for common warts and how safe it is compared to standard freezing with liquid nitrogen and placebo treatment. The placebo uses a similar device without liquid nitrogen. In this study subjects will be randomized to receive treatment from either device. Treatment will be performed every 2 weeks if needed up to 3 treatments. You will receive $40 for each study visit completed. Study visits to our unit are required approximately every two weeks for the first 4 weeks, and then on Weeks, 1, 3, 5, 10 and 17. If you participate in this research study, you will have to stop all other treatments for your warts. Please feel free to call our office at (617) 726-5066 Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 5:00pm for more information.
