A Randomized, Single-Blind, Active control, 18-Week Study to
Evaluate the Safety and Efficacy of A New Twice-daily,
Topically Applied Tar Solution (CT solution) vs.
calcipotriol cream for the Treatment of Adult Subjects with
Moderate Plaque Psoriasis
Description
The Dermatology Clinical Unit for Research Trials in Skin of
Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women’s
Hospital is recruiting subjects 18 years of age and older
with chronic plaque-type psoriasis. The purpose of this
research study is to evaluate how well an investigational
drug, (CT solution) works to treat chronic plaque-type
psoriasis. In this study subjects will be randomly assigned
to one of two study groups (CT solution or calcipotriol (Dovonex).
The study doctor will know not which group the subject is
in. This study drug
will be applied to psoriasis-affected skin twice a day. The
study may last up to 20 weeks and requires 7 study visits.
You will receive $40 for each study visit, not to exceed
$280 total.
Eligibility Criteria –
Subjects 18 years of
age and older with
chronic plaque-type
psoriasis. If you participate in
this research study, you
will have to stop all other
treatments for your psoriasis. Females cannot be pregnant or breast-feeding.
Other restrictions will be explained at the screening
visit.
